About our Sustainability Tracking & Reporting Services - Tier 2

Sustainability Tracking and Reporting - Tier 2: Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting that allows companies to assess their emissions impact specifically generated in IT Operations. All applicable GHG protocol categories reporting for IT Operations, Tech Refreshes, e-waste and electronic device impact generated when entering the waste stream. All applicable GHG categories are explicitly and formally reported; representative of the entire organization. Corporations can assess emissions impact areas and strategize improvement projects, with location specific emissions generated, view specific related metrics, landfill diversion outcomes, & much more in the CAS Client Portal for designed for centralized access between IT, Procurement and ESG teams.

  • Designed for existing sustainability programs: Tailored for organizations that already report ESG metrics or are looking to specifically incorporate Scope 3 evidence reporting for IT Departments
  • Full Corporate Value Chain Scope 3 Reporting for IT: Tier 2 captures IT and electronics-related emissions for Category 5 waste generated in operations, along with all other applicable Scope 3 emissions categories, so reporting aligns with the way mature programs account corporate value chain impact.
  • Multi-site Standardization Support: Standard operating procedure guidance for IT teams with the CAS Client Portal, streamlining measurement and reporting across facilities, so each location’s IT team isn’t reinventing the same accounting process.

Improve Emissions Reporting Outcomes with Modern Technology Capabilities

Core Asset Solutions provides insight and perspective on current and developing technological capabilities that can lead to:

  • increased IT Operations efficiency
  • enable complete IT Asset Tracking capabilities
  • Maintain Scope 3 inventory expectations that are increasingly demanded across some of today's industries
  • Extend the lifetime of your organization's IT Infrastructure investments that can lead to improved reporting and reduction outcomes

Scope 3 Coverage That Connects IT Operations to Organization Goals

  • Broader Scope 3 boundaries: Tier 2 captures IT and electronics-related emissions categories beyond Category 5, so reporting aligns with the way mature programs measure value-chain impact.
  • Standardized E-Waste Pickup Cadence: Strategize a quarterly or monthly pickup cadence with Core Asset Solutions for each location that best fits your organization's needs, with emergency pickup SLA
  • Circular Outcomes vs Scope 3 Outcomes Separation: Circular outcomes are reported separately from waste-treatment activity and Scope 3 emissions calculations to keep disclosures consistent and avoid double counting.
  • Separation of Reporting and Documentation by Site Each pickup produces structured, repeatable records that are documented across organization sites, and can be consolidated into organization-level reporting.

Multi-Site Standardization: Organization Plan for Facility Implementation

  • Facility-level Visibility: View IT equipment, e-waste, and lifecycle outcomes by individual location; useful for local leadership, compliance, and operational improvements.
  • Organization-level reporting: Implement consistent metrics across all sites to show progress against sustainability targets without manual reconciliation through the CAS Client Portal.
  • Standardized & Secure IT Asset Pickup Schedule: Tier 2 supports implementation of repeatable, processes and pickup occurences that improve data quality and completeness, leading to decreased reporting gaps over time.
  • Less burden on IT Team: Removes the “hard-to-find” numbers issue caused by fragmented vendors, inconsistent metering, and sensitive procurement details.

Lifecycle & Circularity Insights That Move the Needle

  • Serial Number Tracking: Track assets by serial so counts, outcomes, and reporting claims are reinforced with documententation of every step.
  • Lifecycle Extension Visibility: Distinguish assets kept in productive use (internal redeploy, external reuse/remarket) from assets that enter the waste stream.
  • Better-than-estimate lifecycle narratives: Client Portal supports model number, SKU, & age-based insights, enabling consistent emissions conversations with procurement through standardizing what’s captured and how it’s interpreted.
  • Practical Outcome Improvements: After a few pickups, consistent & complete data documentation make it easier to strategically decide responsible reuse eligibility, reduce waste-treatment volume, and standardization of handling across IT teams.

The CAS Client Portal: Your IT Sustainability Data Hub

  • Centralized Supplier Data: Instead of chasing down recyclers, carriers, downstream vendors, and spreadsheets, your team keeps documentation and reporting exports centralized and in one place: the CAS Client Portal.
  • CAS Client Portal Customization: The Client Portal separates is compatible for Procurement Enablement: which lets IT teams add supplier data fields to their intake & procurement templates for IT Equipment and Electronic Devices. This feature is also compatible for separate waste-treatment activity from circular outcomes, and organizes records by pickup, site, and reporting period.
  • Facility and Organization Dashboards: Review equipment and e-waste activity at the facility level, then expand to an organization-wide view with admin level access, or secure controls however your organization prefers, for leadership strategy and flexible exportable ESG report capabilities.
  • Governance-Ready Documentation: Chain-of-custody documentation and timestamps, certificates of sanitization or destruction, certificates of recycling, final disposition reporting with documentation and reciept IDs and methodology transparency for supporting security, privacy, and assurance expectations.

Scope 3 Reporting FAQ

What is Tier 2 Scope 3 emissions tracking and reporting?

Tier 2 is a multi-site, evidence based reporting service for usually for organizations with an existing sustainability program. It expands beyond Scope 3 Category 5 by incorporating the broader set of applicable Scope 3 categories tied to IT operations, electronics, and equipment lifecycle. while keeping serial-level tracking, measured weights, and documentation centralized in the CAS Client Portal with only authorized personnel access approved by your organization.

How do you keep sensitive information from crossing over into unauthorized departments within our internal organization?

The CAS Client Portal supports security features designed for keeping only relevant fields visible for specific departments. We assign a unique identifier to any Serial Tracked Asset in the portal, keeping individual assets identifiable, and shading out data fields or unique identifiers for departments that aren't authorized to access of view specific information of assets, or data fields.

How does Tier 2 work across multiple locations?

Tier 2 is designed to standardize reporting across facilities. Admin level access (view across all locations) in the CAS Client Portal can establish pickups scheduling, assets tracking workflows, and assign controls for each site. Only allowing capabilities where teams can view facility-level outcomes only. Admin access can then consolidate standardized documentation to view performace at the organization level for leadership and ESG reporting.

What do you need from us to get started?

We can start with your locations, pickup scope, and the outcomes you want to report. If you have existing sustainability targets, reporting timelines, or internal reuse policies, we’ll align Tier 2 workflows to match them. We’ll then strategize a multiple phase implementation plan, designed so IT teams can adjust and become familiarized for a smooth transition process.

Ready to build a defensible Scope 3 program for IT?

We’ll strategize a multi-phase implementation roll out, standardize Client Portal data fields and controlled access, then deliver a reporting plan that holds up internally and externally.
