About our Custom Tailored ITAD Programs

All IT assets and electronic equipment can be a lot to manage and track, especially with increased documentation demands in many industries operating in today's landscape. Core Asset Solutions provides organizations with IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) programs that are designed around operational needs that centralize disposition outcomes and reporting in the CAS Client Portal.

Core Asset Solutions simplifies the complexity that comes with traditional ITAD service model. We provide real time visibility and full transparency to our clients through the CAS Client Portal. See live updates, GPS transport logs, certificates of media sanitization, and final disposition records that are centralized and stored in one place.

Surplus Electronics & Equipment Disposition

  • One coordinated pickup plan for IT equipment, peripherals, and surplus electronics, designed to reduce operational friction across sites and teams.
  • Standardized, policy-aligned scoping for data-bearing assets (clear, purge, destroy, or route per media type requirements) before downstream processing begins.
  • Disposition reporting format for enterprise stakeholders: IT, security, compliance, procurement, finance, and operations with standardized outputs that are consistent across categories, pickups and all locations.

Client Portal Dashboard Program Flexibility

  • CAS is your one point of contact; while your team manages day-to-day program needs through the client portal (requests, approvals, scheduling, and standardized instructions).
  • Site profiles and recurring pickup cadences that enforce consistent staging, labeling, intake, and documentation across all locations; enabling efficient IT operations across the organization.
  • Standardized data capture that makes multi-site documentation predictable: no custom spreadsheets, fewer exceptions, and cleaner closeouts.
  • Scan-in scan-out timestamp visibility to document custody transitions from removal through intake and final disposition.
  • Capability to document repairs, parts and component swaps, and other program events so processing outcomes reflect what actually occurred.

Media Sanitization & Risk-Tiered Workflows

  • Risk-tier classification: Low, Medium, or High to standardize data handling decisions for mixed fleets and varying sensitivity classifications.
  • Media sanitization workflows scoped by media type and host interface, supporting NIST 800-88 Clear, Purge, Destroy outcomes where required.
  • Exception reporting and escalation pathways when assets cannot be sanitized as scoped, for maintaining defensible outcomes without slowing down the overall program.
  • Support for documented storage removal and certified refurbishment for qualifying devices after storage has been removed or sanitized, enabling internal reuse routing when permitted by policy.
  • Donation and external reuse pathways with tight data controls and documented handling steps so reuse outcomes remain aligned with organization security expectations.

Lifecycle Visibility & Program Standardization

A strong ITAD program does more than just remove old equipment. Core Asset Solutions helps organizations standardize how assets are tracked through end-of-use, classified for security handling, and routed to the appropriate disposition outcome. This preserves the option to extend device life when your policy allows it. Through the client portal, program teams can maintain complete records that track lifecycle visibility, warranty terms, repair compatibility, and manufacturer take-back programs for maximizing your IT department's infrastructure investments.

  • Lifecycle Analysis: Track asset lifecycle while in service until end-of-use with standardized fields that support governance and reporting consistency.
  • Warranty Terms & Repair Compatibility: Capture condition and record notes that support repair & refurbish decisions for qualifying equipment.
  • Manufacturer Take-Back Programs: Support asset routing logic that can incorporate manufacturer take-back programs where applicable and required.
  • Reuse where appropriate: Maintain a secured and controlled pathway for reuse outcomes. Leverage longer device lifecycle without compromising data security through refurbishment, redeployment across campuses, or donation outcomes when appropriate.

Documentation Package Options for Enterprise

  • Serialized Asset Tracking: Additional device unique identifier capture is avaliable and documented across our seventeen IT asset categories for large batches and multi-site programs.
  • Certificates: Certificates of Media Sanitization, Destruction, and Recycling aligned to your internal requirements.
  • Verification Workflows: Verification of Media Sanitization Outcomes as outlined in IEEE 2883-2022 Standard. Including random sampling, exception reporting, and verification pass/fail results added to the Certificate of Media Sanitization for storage media handling.
  • Evidence Capture: Photo and/or video documentation avaliable for high-assurance destruction or audit driven projects.

CAS ITAD Process

  • Free Assessment: Evaluation of IT assets, access requirements, program cadence, and documentation needs across all locations.
  • Secure Collection & Transport: Full chain of custody from pickup through final disposition with secure handling practices. We also offer GPS log tracking as a secure transport & logistics feature.
  • Intake Reporting: An intake list report documenting what was recieved by asset category, quantity and serial number. We provide standardized & automated data capture workflows that create consistent and complete data sets across all locations for multi-site organizations.
  • Media sanitization: Clear/Purge/Destroy outcomes as scoped, supported by risk-tier classification and exception escalation when required.
  • Asset Final Processing: Recycling and circular disposition options based on your direction and device qualification, including certified refurbishment and donation routing where permitted and controlled.
  • Reporting: Final disposition reporting with Certificates of Recycling, Circular Outcome Documentation, and Certificate of Destruction/Sanitization. Documentation Packages built for governance teams and multi-site standardization. For organizations formalizing GHG disclosures, these standardized outputs can also support Scope 3 accounting workflows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) include?

ITAD typically includes pickup/removal planning, secure handling, intake documentation, data sanitization or destruction (when required), and final disposition reporting (reuse vs. recycling vs. destruction) with certificates as scoped. We also offer access to the CAS Client Portal, a dashboard that centralizes all documentation, chain of custody trails, reporting and certificates. The portal also enables IT Asset & equipment lifecycle management, standardization across multiple (or many) locations streamlined data security workflows, risk classification, and efficient asset identifier intake and upload to the client dashboard.

Do you handle surplus electronics pickups and e-waste removal as part of ITAD?

Yes. Many ITAD projects include mixed loads of IT equipment, peripherals, cables, and surplus electronics. We scope secure handling, sorting, disposition routing, and documentation, then report final outcomes based on your requirements.

See Secure Electronics Recycling.

Do you provide chain of custody documentation?

Yes. We document custody from pickup through processing and provide reporting that supports internal governance, which can all be tracked in the CAS Client Portal. All documents and formalized reporting uploaded for clients in the portal can be exported and saved internally, or delivered and formally reported in other ways.

Can you provide per-asset reporting for large batches?

Yes. Even for larger volumes, serial number asset tracking and reporting is avaliable. We also offer individual asset / storage media reporting along with batch reporting format for Certificates of Media Sanitization and Certificates of Data Destruction for large storage device batches.

Do you offer only media sanitization and data destruction project support?

Yes. We can scope Media Sanitization Services for device types and storage media to NIST 800-88 Clear, Purge, Destroy Method or by organization required disposition and destruction path. We can also scope for Data Destruction services that route devices that qualify for reuse, contingent upon secure and successful removal of storage media, which can be routed to physical destruction, or can be routed to a different media sanitization method, and returned to your organization for internal reuse.

See Media Sanitization. See Data Destruction.

What sustainability documentation is available for ITAD outcomes?

We provide final disposition reporting (reuse vs recycle vs destroy), landfill diversion documentation, certificates of recycling in the Client Portal for ITAD Programs. We can also scope sustainability tracking and reporting into the client portal as well. We have tier 1 and tier 2 sustainability tracking and reporting levels that can fits right into ITAD Program workflows and final disposition reporting depending on your sustainability program goals and stakeholder needs.

See Sustainability Tracking. See Scope 3 Emissions Tracking.
